ENHANCED HUMANITY

                    
                    Miracle enough is that we’re here,

                   That out of star dust humans could appear

                   With consciousness adept to comprehend

                   Where we began and on what course we’ll wend.

                  The Cosmos is self-conscious at long last,

                  Although we must suppose within its vast

                  Expanses mind has otherwhere emerged

                  And taken other paths that have diverged

                  From how we’ve grown and may be more advanced

                  In knowledge, and in wisdom much enhanced.

                 Let’s hope that’s so and that in time we’ll find

                 Good ways to emulate exalted mind,

                      And our adventure in humanity

                      Will prove at last we’ve mastered sanity.
