   What is the truest theory we can make
   Of how the universe has been designed,
   And whether that was done for our own sake,
   The handiwork of a benevolent mind,

   Or somehow just a random happenstance
   Stochastic probability produced,
   Inducing the illusion of advance,
   Design, and purpose—but indeed un-Zeused?

   I think the very fact of our own minds
   Proves something out of nothing cannot be,
   That all things come from sources of their kinds,
   That like produces like’s reality.

      It takes a mind to turn a verse like this;
      Likewise, the universe is no abyss.
