MYSTERIUM
Once when I was young I felt enthused
By something otherworldly that infused
In me a sacred radiance not seen
But felt, a glorious aura, holy sheen,
That ever after lingered in my soul,
A glint of what had once made me feel whole.
It filled me with a warmth of loving care,
A Spirit I felt galvanized to share,
Electric in its animating charge
That seemed to make my glowing heart enlarge.
That transcendental episode remains
A guiding light and even now explains
My fascination with ethereal things
From which verse such as this mystically springs.
