LIZZY
There is a little lizard who hangs out
On the backside of a chair in our back yard
At two a.m. when Tiggy has to scout
A place to pee, and I am there to guard
Her from night owls and critters who cause harm.
What Lizzy does or where she goes all day
I cannot say, but staying safe and warm
Are her two goals—being no-one’s prey.
